Prostate Cancer is the most common type of cancer and the second leading cause of cancer deaths among American men. For reasons not fully known, black American men are at greater risk than white American men. The cause of Prostate Cancer is unknown. The risk factors for prostate cancer include advancing age, genetics, hormonal influences and such environmental factors as toxins, chemicals and industrial products. The chances of developing prostate cancer increase with age, and therefore it is rarely diagnosed in men under age 50, but is common in men older than age 80. The average age is 72.
